A postal label can narrow an address search, but it cannot replace the Town record behind the address. The Weymouth ZIP code directory connects each local postal area with the village names that often appear in records and mail. Use a full street address when accuracy matters, since a ZIP can span more than one neighborhood and does not define a municipal line. Postal naming, assessment information, and voter-registration fields each use ZIP data for different purposes.

Weymouth Postal Directory Areas

Four standard ZIP codes serve Weymouth. They roughly follow the Town's traditional village geography: Weymouth Landing, East Weymouth, South Weymouth, and North Weymouth. “Roughly” matters. These are practical postal and place-name associations, not surveyed municipal boundaries. A street address should always be checked with USPS before a mailing, filing, or record request.

02191North Weymouth and Bicknell SquareNorth Weymouth postal placeCoastal and northern slice; N Weymouth is an alias

No fifth standard Weymouth ZIP was verified in the official material. The historical village centers are useful search terms when a directory, newspaper, or map uses a local name rather than the Town name. Official material did not establish a current counter location for 02188, 02190, or 02191, so those labels should remain postal-place context rather than assumed station locations.

Weymouth Postal Name Variants

Postal and municipal names are not interchangeable. A property remains in its legal municipality even when mail uses East Weymouth, South Weymouth, North Weymouth, or Weymouth Landing. The postal directory therefore treats a place label as a search aid, not as proof of a town boundary. Official postal material uses Weymouth with the four standard ZIPs, while local history adds village names such as The Landing, Jackson Square, Columbian Square, and Bicknell Square.

Older sources add more labels. The 1927 Sanborn material names Eastern Neck, Lovell's Corner, Nash's Corner, Weymouth Centre, and Weymouth Heights, as well as the better-known villages. Search these place names alongside an old street name when a catalog or newspaper search misses an address. The Town's own name is also a useful quirk: records may be filed under “Town of Weymouth” even when a common reference calls it a city.

Weymouth Postal Address Checks

The USPS ZIP Code Lookup is the authoritative address-to-ZIP route. Enter the street address, city, and state, or use the ZIP search offered by USPS. The result resolves the current delivery ZIP and, where supplied, ZIP+4. That is more reliable than copying a ZIP from a map or an old directory because delivery assignments can change without altering a parcel description.

USPS verification does not tell who lives at an address. It confirms a mailing geography. Keep that distinction when using the Weymouth postal directory for records research. A precise postal result can then be paired with the MapGeo situs address or with the required residential ZIP in an individual's voter-status confirmation.

The USPS ZIP Code Lookup interface is the source for a live Weymouth address check.

The live form, rather than a static ZIP map, resolves the postal code and ZIP+4 for a particular delivery address.

Weymouth ZIP Field Searches

A ZIP is a required identity field in the state voter-status tool, not a public browse filter. The Massachusetts voter-status search asks for the person's registered first and last name, full birth date, residential five-digit ZIP, and agreement. If the person moved, the prior registration ZIP may be worth trying. The response is an individual status confirmation, not a list of residents within a Weymouth postal area.

The required ZIP helps distinguish an individual verification tool from a ZIP-wide resident directory.

Weymouth Parcel Records by ZIP

Weymouth's Online Property Viewer points to MapGeo for owner, address, parcel, printable record-card, tax-map, zoning, voting, and deed links. The record card distinguishes situs address, the physical parcel location, from mailing address, where a tax notice goes. A mailing ZIP can be outside Weymouth, so it is a clue about notice delivery rather than proof that an owner lives on the parcel.

Research could not verify a ZIP filter in the MapGeo web application. The available search controls are address or street, owner name, parcel or property identifier, plus map browsing. Treat ZIP filtering as an unverified gap, not a MapGeo capability. A ZIP-wide property result would also show parcel records, not a household roster.

The Town property-viewer introduction shows the official route into the parcel system.

The Town page describes the MapGeo connection before an address, owner, or parcel search begins.

The MapGeo property-search interface provides the corresponding parcel-map view.

MapGeo is useful after an address has been verified, because its cards and polygons are tied to property records rather than postal boundaries.

Finding Weymouth Records by ZIP

Use ZIP information to narrow an address question, then switch to the record keyed to that address. The following path preserves the difference between postal delivery, local parcel records, and individual voter status.

  1. Confirm the full street address and current ZIP or ZIP+4 with USPS.
  2. Search MapGeo by the confirmed address, owner name, or parcel identifier, not by an assumed ZIP filter.
  3. Read the parcel's situs and mailing fields separately, then follow the deed link or tax-map reference if an ownership question remains.
  4. For an individual voter-status question, use the required registered name, birth date, and residential ZIP on the state form.
  5. Once the ZIP has narrowed a search to a street, use the address workflow on the Weymouth streets page for parcel and deed steps.

Local voter-file requests can specify precinct, street, or as-of date, but research did not establish that Weymouth maintains a ready-made ZIP-wide voter file. Ask the Town Clerk for existing public fields and preserve all required redactions.

Weymouth ZIP Boundary Terms

Postal terms are easy to overread. They help route mail but do not replace the legal address, parcel boundary, or municipal jurisdiction used in a property or court record.

ZIP code
A postal delivery geography used to route mail. It is not a municipal boundary.
ZIP+4
An added four digits that narrow delivery routing for a particular address or delivery point.
PO-box ZIP
A ZIP used for post-office boxes. No Weymouth PO-box-only ZIP was verified in the research.
Unique ZIP
A ZIP assigned to a single organization or delivery arrangement. No Weymouth unique ZIP was verified in the research.
Carrier route
A mail-delivery sequence within a ZIP area. It is not a resident list or town boundary.

Note: Exact address-level ZIP overlaps were not exhaustively identified in the official sources, so an individual USPS lookup remains the reliable boundary check.

Weymouth Records Requests by ZIP

A ZIP code does not create a new public-record category. When an address-based record is not online, ask the custodian for an existing record by its proper key, such as street address, parcel number, owner name, precinct, date, or plan reference. Weymouth directs written public-record requests through its NextRequest center, with the Town Clerk as Records Access Officer. State access rules are in the Massachusetts Public Records Law, M.G.L. c. 66, § 10.

For a voter question, a request can ask whether the Town holds an existing public list for a specified street, precinct, and as-of date. Research did not establish a ready-made ZIP-wide voter file, and protected fields must remain excluded. For a parcel question, MapGeo, the Assessors, and the Norfolk Registry use property and title identifiers instead of an assumed postal boundary. For an old address, provide known village labels, former owner names, or plan references with the ZIP.

The usual response window is ten business days. Municipal labor may be charged after two hours, normally capped at $25 an hour, plus allowed copy or postage costs. Ask for a fee estimate and electronic delivery when appropriate. A records request can seek existing fields or files; it cannot require Town staff to create a ZIP directory, analyze a neighborhood, or resolve a person's identity.

Weymouth ZIP Address Changes

New building numbers come through Weymouth Engineering and its address-grade process, while Building Inspection, Planning, Assessors, 911 addressing, and postal data may update at different times. A unit number or secondary address can also be absent from a parcel or emergency dataset. For that reason, a mismatch among a tax card, mail label, and a new permit is a reason to verify, not a reason to assume one source is wrong.

For older addresses, compare the 1899 and 1927 Sanborn maps with State Library directories and house guides. The well-documented continuity limit is not a Town-wide renumbering event. It is the Norfolk Registry's limited pre-2003 address indexing. Move through owner names, legal descriptions, plans, old village labels, and newspaper notices when a historic address cannot be found directly.
